ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court’s decision to grant bail to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan has initiated a new debate within the party’s supporters about whether Imran khan will come out of jail or not.

The three-member bench led by Chief Justice Yahya khan Afridi granted bail to PTI founder Imran Khan in eight cases of the May 9 incidents.

The Chief Justice summoned both parties to the chamber to give them the written orders, which raised expectations among the PTI supporters of his early release.

However, even though the bail has been granted, PTI and its founder still have to fight a long legal battle for the release of Imran Khan.

Khan is also facing 43 additional Rawalpindi-registered complaints, most of which are related to protests that took place in September, October, and November. It is doubtful that he will be released from prison unless bail is obtained in certain situations.

The issue now is whether the PTI founder will be able to leave jail very soon or if the cases will keep him there even after the Supreme Court granted him bail.

. The coming weeks may determine if this relief translates into actual release, or if Imran Khan’s incarceration will continue.
