Actor Rashid Mehmood attacked by crowd in Rahim Yar Khan

RAHIM YAR KHAN: Renowned actor Rashid Mehmood was attacked by an angry mob after a traffic incident in the Punjab city of Rahim Yar Khan.

According to reports, the mob attacked him after a minor clash and damaged his car, also snatching his identity card.

The actor suffered internal injuries on his face and chest. He explained that he was on his way to pick up his wife when he accidentally took a wrong turn near Sheikh Zayed Bridge.

A motorcycle carrying a man, three women and two children crashed into his car at high speed. Although the riders were not seriously injured, a mob gathered and started beating him without checking the situation.

Rashid Mehmood added that the attackers tried to steal his identity and belongings. A kind passerby intervened, helped him escape the crowd, and informed the police.

Later, he received a call from the police asking for his contact details and residence information. The actor expressed deep sorrow over the incident and said the situation could have been fatal.

Fans and celebrities condemned the attack, urging authorities to conduct a thorough investigation into the matter and bring those responsible to justice.
