Pakistani actress Momina Iqbal remains in the headlines as the Momina Iqbal harassment case has now taken a dramatic turn after the public statement from PML-N MPA Muhammad Saqib Chaddar’s legal team.
The controversy began after Momina Iqbal accused the politician of allegedly harassing her prior to her wedding. The actress complained online and posted the details on social media, which led authorities to probe the matter. Her sister, lawyer Ramsha Iqbal, has also been active in the pursuit of the case.
Now, Mian Ashfaq, the lawyer of Saqib Chaddar, has come forward with the politician’s version of the story in a media interaction. “They allegedly knew each other since 2020 and were in what he called a serious personal relationship that was once expected to lead to marriage,” the lawyer said.
The lawyer said at a press conference that the actress had received financial support and a variety of benefits from his client for several years. He said the relationship was later complicated and finally broke down after some undisclosed issues came to light.
Saqib Chaddar’s wife had also been dragged into the controversy, Mian Ashfaq said, adding that she may appear before the court as proceedings continued. He said the public attention it garnered meant the case should be investigated thoroughly from all angles.
