DHARAMSHALA: Amid the ongoing tensions between Pakistan and India, the Indian authorities have called off the Indian Premier League (IPL) match between Punjab Kings and Delhi Capitals.
According to the sources, the authorities dimmed the lights of the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association (HPCA) Stadium, claiming an attack in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir, which the Pakistani authorities have denied.
The IPL Governing Council Chairman, Arun Dhumal, requested the people to evacuate the stadium only after the teams played 10 overs. The stadium is located in Dharamshala.
Sources claim that the Indian authorities completely blacked out the stadium afterwards.
Earlier, the scheduled match between the Mumbai Indians and the Kings XI Punjab on May 11 was shifted to Hyderabad from Dharamshala.
The shifting of matches was due to the closure of Dharamshala airport amid the rising tension, making it difficult for the team travel nd other logistic support.
Organisers and international players are allegedly becoming concerned as the unpredictable atmosphere continues to cast a pall over the rest of the competition, making the IPL’s future look increasingly dubious.
