MUMBAI: Amid the recent tension between Pakistan and India, the schedule of the Indian Premier League (IPL) has also been disturbed as the matches are being rescheduled from its current fixture, according to Indian media reports.

The scheduled match between the Mumbai Indians and the Kings XI Punjab on May 11 has now been shifted to Hyderabad from Dharamshala.

The shifting of matches is due to the closure of Dharamshala airport amid the rising tension making it difficult for the team travel nd other logistic support.

Organisers and international players are allegedly becoming concerned as the unpredictable atmosphere continues to cast a pall over the rest of the competition, making the IPL’s future look increasingly dubious.

Earlier, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) had decided to shift the remaining matches of the Pakistan Super League to Karachi amid the prevailing situation in Lahore and Rawalpindi, according to media sources.

The decision was made on Thursday in a high-level meeting at the PCB head office in Lahore, according to media reports.

Earlier, amid a drone attack in Rawalpindi, the Pakistan Super League (PSL) match between Peshawar Zalmi and Karachi Kings was cancelled.

The drone targeted Rawalpindi Food Street, just meters away from Rawalpindi Stadium, where matches were scheduled to take place.
