Mohammad Yousuf resigns as Pakistan cricket team selector

LAHORE: In a surprise move, Mohammad Yousuf, the selector of the Pakistan national cricket team, announced his resignation from the post due to personal reasons.

Yousuf, a former Pakistan cricketer, expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to serve the team. “It has been a great honor to serve this incredible team,” he said. “I am proud to have played a role for Pakistan Cricket.”

Yousuf expressed confidence in the team’s potential, stating, “I have immense faith in the talent and passion of our players.” He extended his well-wishes to the national team, saying, “I wish the national cricket team all the best as they continue to strive for greatness.”

The news was confirmed by Muhammad Yousaf himself in a social media post on his Twitter account.

Yousuf’s resignation comes as a surprise, and the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has yet to comment on the development. The search for his replacement is expected to begin soon.

Moreover, Former Pakistan captain, Wasim Akram, praised Yousuf’s contribution to Pakistan cricket, saying, “Mohammad Yousuf has been an asset to Pakistan cricket, both as a player and selector.”

PCB Chairman, Zaka Ashraf, thanked Yousuf for his services, saying, “We respect Mohammad Yousuf’s decision and appreciate his dedication to Pakistan cricket.”

The PCB will convene an emergency meeting to discuss Yousuf’s replacement and the future of Pakistan cricket.
