LAHORE: Ali Tareen, the owner of Pakistan Super League (PSL) franchise Multan Sultans, has torn up the legal notice of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).

In a video message released on social media, Ali Tareen said that the PSL management has sent him a legal notice demanding that he withdraw his critical statements and apologize.

He said that if he does not apologize, he has also been threatened with terminating the franchise agreement and blacklisting him, but he will not remain silent.

Ali Tareen said that he loves the PSL and this league belongs to the whole of Pakistan. He is ready to sit together to resolve the problems, but he has not been contacted in this regard to date.

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has issued a suspension notice to the Pakistan Super League (PSL) franchise, Multan Sultans, over an alleged breach of contract.

According to sources, the cricket board has also sent a formal notice for termination of the franchise’s contract after completing all necessary legal procedures.

Sources revealed that the decision reportedly follows repeated public statements by Sultans’ owner Ali Tareen, who allegedly criticized the PCB and PSL management and policies.

Earlier this year, in April, he posted a podcast clip questioning the PCB’s readiness for PSL 10.

He wrote, “How is PSL 10 bigger and better? Same games, same teams – what’s new? Fed up with hollow words. PCB had time to plan innovations, but we’re repeating last year. Our biggest brand deserves more. Explain the vision!”

A few days later, he issued a clarification after backlash, saying, “I love PSL – it’s a MADE-IN-PAKISTAN success story we all benefit from. My words were about promoting genuine growth, not negativity. Salman Naseer & the PCB team are giving their all. Let’s unite as owners to back them and elevate the league. No more stagnation!”
