DUBAI: Pakistan fast bowler Haris Rauf has won the ICC Men’s Player of the Month award for November 2024 after a stellar performance in the recently concluded Australia series.

Haris Rauf fired on all cylinders on the tour of Australia, taking 10 wickets in three ODIs to lead his team to their first ODI series win in 22 years.

Rauf took a total of 18 wickets in the month of November, beating India’s Jasprit Bumrah and South Africa’s Marco Johnson to the monthly award, the ICC said in a press release.

The 31-year-old’s impressive performance came in the second ODI against Australia. With Pakistan trailing 1-0 in the three-match series, Rauf produced a blistering display of pace in Adelaide, claiming figures of 5/29.

Rauf’s spell, his second five-wicket haul for Pakistan, saw the hosts bowled out for just 163 as Pakistan returned to the series with a resounding nine-wicket victory.

In the decisive third ODI, the right-arm pacer took another two wickets and was named player of the series as Pakistan emerged victorious by a 2-1 margin.

In the three T20Is that followed, Rauf took five more wickets, including four in Sydney, his fourth in a T20I.

Later that month, when Pakistan toured Zimbabwe, Rauf took three more wickets in as many ODIs as the visitors won the series 2-1.
