FAISALABAD: Pakistan set South Africa a target of 270 runs to win in the second match of the 3-match ODI series.
Pakistan scored 269 runs for the loss of 9 wickets in the allotted 50 overs. Salman Agha scored 69 runs and Mohammad Nawaz scored 59 runs.
In the match being played at the Iqbal Cricket Stadium in Faisalabad, Pakistan won the toss and decided to bat first against the visiting team, South Africa.
South Africa blew away the Pakistani top-order batsmen. Opener Fakhar Zaman was dismissed for zero, while Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan returned to the pavilion after scoring 11 and 4 runs.
After the fall of 3 wickets, Salman Ali Agha and Saim Ayub batted responsibly, and both the batsmen scored half-centuries while establishing a partnership.
However, Saim 53 and Salman Ali Agha were dismissed for 69 runs while Hussain Talat left the team with a score of 10.
In the closing overs, Muhammad Nawaz and Faheem Ashraf batted responsibly. Nawaz was dismissed for 59 runs and Faheem Ashraf for 28 runs.
