DHAKA: Possible dates for Asia Cup 2027 have been revealed. Accordingly, the tournament is likely to be played in Bangladesh from June 18 to July 4, 2027 under the ODI format.

Talking to an Indian website, Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) Security Committee Chairman Syed Ibrahim said that Mirpur, Chittagong and Sylhet have been earmarked as possible venues for Asia Cup 2027.

He said that the Bangladesh Cricket Board is in constant contact with the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) and the council has been informed about the proposed venues and arrangements.

According to Syed Ibrahim, the tournament will be played in the ODI format, which will also be important for the preparations for the ICC ODI World Cup to be held in 2027.
It should be noted that Bangladesh last hosted the Asia Cup in 2016, while the 2027 event is also expected to be held in the country, however, the final schedule and hosting will be officially announced by the Asian Cricket Council.

It should be remembered that the Asia Cup is the largest non-ICC tournament played in the region, which is held every two years, but many times due to various reasons, it has also been delayed for several years, thus it has been held for the 17th time in 41 years.

The Asia Cup was first held in 1984. At that time, this tournament was played on a single league basis between only three teams Pakistan, India and Sri Lanka. Later, the number of teams increased and eight teams were part of the event in the Asia Cup 2025.

In the 16 editions played so far, India has the upper hand and has lifted the trophy 9 times. After that, Sri Lanka won the Asia Cup 6 times while Pakistan crowned the champion twice.

Sri Lanka has the honor of playing the most finals in the Asia Cup, having played 13 finals. India reached the final 12 times. Pakistan reached the final six times while Bangladesh played the final three times but the Bengal Tigers could not lift the trophy even once.
