DUBAI: Salman Ali Agha made a significant jump in the latest ICC ODI player rankings after his century in the first ODI against Sri Lanka.
Several Pakistani players moved upwards in the rankings, reflecting strong performances in recent matches.
Fast-rising Salman Agha jumped 14 places to 16th position for ODI batsmen in the ICC’s latest update following his brilliant 105-run innings against Sri Lanka.
Agha also moved up seven places to 11th in the all-rounders’ list, reflecting his increasing importance in the team.
The other notable batting improvements were those of Saim Ayub, who leaped 18 places to 35th position, Mohammad Rizwan, who moved up four places to 27th, while Fakhar Zaman went up five places to 31st.
Babar Azam slipped slightly by two places to 7th, maintaining his position among the world’s top batsmen.
Among the bowlers, currently, no Pakistani is within the top 15, with Afghanistan’s Rashid Khan retaining the top spot.
The highest-ranked Pakistani among the fast bowlers is Shaheen Afridi at 16th position, while spinner Abrar Ahmed jumped 18 places to 20th.
Haris Rauf went up two places to 29th position as Pakistan’s pace attack continued to show steady improvement.
