ISLAMABAD: Former captain and fast bowler of the national cricket team, Shaheen Shah Afridi is expecting their first child soon with his wife Ansha Afridi.

Jason Gillespie, head coach of the national Test cricket team, has reportedly confirmed that Afridi will not be able to play the upcoming Test match against Bangladesh due to the expected birth of a child.

He said that Shaheen might be out of Bangladesh’s Test matches due to the birth of her child. “If he chooses to stay with his wife during this time, we are ready to give him rest,” he said.

Pakistan will play a two-match Test series against Bangladesh from August 21 to September 3, the matches of which will be played in Rawalpindi and Karachi.

Shaheen Shah Afridi married Shahid Afridi’s daughter Ansha Afridi in Karachi last year. Earlier, the couple held a marriage ceremony.
