ISLAMABAD: The West Indies cricket team has announced its Test squad for the upcoming two-match series against Pakistan, to be played in Multan from 17 to 29 January 2025.
Kraigg Brathwaite will lead the Caribbean team which includes key players such as Joshua de Silva, Kemar Roach, Casey Carty and Justin Graves.
The series will serve as the concluding chapter of the two-year World Test Championship cycle and will mark the West Indies’ first Test tour of Pakistan in 18 years.
The squad features left-handed batsman Amir Jango, who earned his first Test call-up after a brilliant match-winning ODI century on debut against Bangladesh. Additionally, Godakesh Moti returns to the team after missing the recent drawn series against Bangladesh.
Head coach Andre Cooley was optimistic about the series, stressing its importance as it provides an opportunity for the team to showcase their progress and development. He also praised the inclusion of Amir Jango and Gadakesh Moti and highlighted their potential contributions.
The team will arrive in Islamabad on January 6 to begin preparations for the series. The first Test will begin on January 17 while the second and final Test will be played on January 25. Both matches will be hosted at the Multan Cricket Stadium.
The series is expected to be a competitive affair as both teams aim to strengthen their position in the ICC Test rankings.
