ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) sources have confirmed that 5G is not yet available on iPhone and Samsung smartphones, 5G carrier configuration is not yet possible on iPhone and Samsung, and 5G service cannot be activated on their mobile phones without the approval of Apple and Samsung.

Sources say that Apple and Samsung have not yet included Pakistan in the “country whitelisting” related to 5 G. Global mobile companies activate 5G on their phones only after approving each country’s networks.

Sources say that the technical approval process between mobile companies and network operators is underway. The PTA is in touch with telecom operators, Apple, and Samsung administrations. After whitelisting, the 5G service will be automatically activated on all compatible mobile phones.

The 5G service will soon be activated on Apple and Samsung in Pakistan.
