ISLAMABAD: The federal government has decided on drone surveillance for all train operations in Balochistan along with the installation of CCTV Cameras at all Railway stations.
The federal minister for Railways, Hanif Abbasi, on Tuesday emphasized the authorities to ensure the latest safety technologies and improve emergency preparedness for a safe environment for the passengers.
“We need to upgrade the railway infrastructure, especially focusing on the tracks, stations, and rolling stock to ensure smooth and steady service, adding that the introduction of modern technologies can make passenger Pakistan railway their preferred choice for Travel,” said the railway minister.
Furthermore, the minister added that Jaffar express will resume its operations soon as its track has now been restored.
The train services were suspended after the recent attack on Jaffar Express in Balochistan.
During the meeting, detailed notes on operational aspects of railways, services, travel safety and technical aspect was briefed to the minister.
The meeting, convened for the current status of the Pakistan railways, was attended by all the stakeholder to further improve and address the current challenges of the railway.
The minister called for better communication between the railway staff and the passenger to ensure that the passenger gets information about the railway services, timing and any service interruption.
