UTTAR PRADESH: A typical cross-border marriage took place in a district of Uttar Pradesh when a BJP leader’s son married a Pakistani girl through an online nikah.

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) corporator Tahsin Shahid got his elder son Mohammad Abbas Haider married to Andleep Zahra, a resident of Lahore. Although he applied for a visa, the groom was unable to obtain a visa due to ongoing political tensions between the two countries.

The situation became more complicated when the bride’s mother, Rana Yasmin Zaidi, fell ill and was admitted to an ICU in Pakistan. In light of these challenges, Shahid chose to conduct the wedding ceremony online.

On Friday night, Shahid gathered with Barati at an imam bara to participate in the online nikah with the bride’s family joining the ceremony from Lahore.

Haider hoped that his wife would get her Indian visa without any complications.

BJP MLC Brijesh Singh Prishu and other guests attended the wedding and congratulated the groom’s family.
