Washington, DC: In a recent development, United States President Donald Trump has announced that the ceasefire between Iran and Israel is now fully effective.

Trump emphasized that the ceasefire would be a complete and total one, and urged both sides not to violate it, saying “Please do not violate it!” on his Truth Social platform.

Earlier, the United States President Donald Trump announced a complete ceasefire between Israel and Iran, marking the end of the 12-day war.

Trump revealed on his Truth Social platform that the ceasefire would begin after both sides completed their final military operations. The truce will last for 12 hours, after which the conflict will be officially declared over.

According to Trump, Iran will unilaterally halt all operations, with Israel following suit 12 hours later. The phased 24-hour process is expected to bring relief to the region, with markets reacting favorably to the news.

Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi stated that Tehran would stop its military operations if Israel halted its “illegal aggression” against the Iranian people.

Araqchi added that the final decision on the cessation of military operations would be made later. Trump congratulated both countries on having the “stamina, courage, and intelligence” to end the conflict, which he termed the “12-Day War”.

Qatar’s Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani played a role in securing Tehran’s agreement, and US officials, including Vice President JD Vance and Secretary of State Marco Rubio, were in direct and indirect contact with the Iranians.

Iranian missile strikes on Israel

However, despite the announcement of a Ceasefire between Iran and Israel, Iran has launched six waves of missiles at Israel, resulting in three reported deaths in Beersheba, according to Israeli media.

Israel’s national ambulance service confirmed the casualties, and emergency personnel are working at the impacted residential sites. According to Israel’s Channel 14, a woman in her 40s was among those people killed in the strike in the country’s southern area.

Also killed was a man in his 40s and a young man in his 20s, the report said.

In addition, emergency workers evacuated two people in their 50s, who sustained “moderate” injuries, while six others, who sustained light injuries, were treated on site.

Additionally, the Israeli military issued evacuation warnings to residents in areas of Tehran and activated alarms in the southern Golan Heights area due to fears of hostile aircraft intrusion.

Ceasefire Timeline:

  • Iran’s Ceasefire: Starts at 04:00 GMT (7:00 am in Israel, 7:30 am in Tehran) on Tuesday
  •  Israel’s Ceasefire: Starts 12 hours later at 16:00 GMT (7:00 pm local time in Israel)
  • Israel must stick to the ceasefire for 12 hours, after which the ceasefire will be considered to be in full effect.
  • Trump said this timeline will mark the official end to what he termed the “Twelve Day War” between Israel and Iran.
