ISLAMABAD: The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) maintains a formal fee schedule for age change requests in the Smart National Identity Card for Overseas Pakistanis (Smart NICOP), as part of the PAK ID system.
The service is provided by the authority in order to prevent inaccuracies in personal records while deterring unnecessary updates to sensitive identity details.
The National Identity Card for Overseas Pakistanis (NICOP) is granted to a Pakistani citizen who is living abroad and possesses dual nationality with another country that has a dual nationality treaty with Pakistan.
Holders of a Smart NICOP are exempt from needing a visa to visit Pakistan.
Those applying for the modification of age with a one-year difference or less will be billed USD 5.
For differences in ages of over one year but not exceeding two years, the charge is USD 25. A modification with a difference of over two years and not exceeding three years will attract a charge of USD 40.
In a case where the age difference exceeds three years, candidates will be required to pay $65. Where an applicant would ask for a second alteration of their age, a fixed amount of USD 125 will be charged irrespective of the disparity.
Overseas Pakistanis can easily update personal details, such as age alterations, through the PAK ID online portal from anywhere across the globe. Nevertheless, authorities still advise applicants to ensure accurate information in their original submissions to avoid increased fees on subsequent alterations.
