TEHRAN: Commander Ali Shamkhani, advisor and bodyguard of Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, is alive and in better condition than before, according to Iranian media reports.
The Revolutionary Guards’ media agency says that advisor Ali Shamkhani’s condition is now stable, as per the reports. In a message released on Friday, Ali Shamkhani said that he is alive and ready to sacrifice his life for Iran.
It should be noted that earlier, Iranian media had said that he was seriously injured in an Israeli attack on his residence on June 13 and that he was transferred to a hospital in Tehran.
Later on the same day, the media reported that Ali Shamkhani succumbed to his injuries.
However, news has emerged that Ali Shamkhani was seriously injured in the Israeli attacks, but his condition is now out of danger.
Earlier, Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said on Tuesday it had killed Major General Ali Shadmani, Iran’s wartime Chief of Staff and the country’s most senior military commander, in a targeted airstrike on central Tehran.
According to the IDF, the strike was carried out based on precise intelligence and marks the second elimination of a top Iranian commander within five days.
General Shadmani was not only Iran’s highest-ranking military official but also served as a close military advisor to Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
His death follows the recent killing of Lt. Gen. Gholamali Rashid, after which Khamenei had elevated Shadmani to the rank of Major General and appointed him as the Commander of the Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters.
