Quetta: In a tragic event in Quetta, two younger brothers were killed by their foster brother as the bodies were recovered after 11 months in their home, according to media reports.
The locals and relatives were being told that they were studying in Lahore, but the ex-wife of the alleged killer busted it by informing the Inspector General of the police in a letter.
Industrial Police Station SHO Shahnawaz Mengal told media reporters that ‘22-year-old Salman Saleem Lodhi and 19-year-old Faizan Saleem Lodhi were brothers who were killed by their elder brother Adnan Saleem about 11 months ago, and their bodies were buried and hidden in the house where they were living on rent.’
According to the SHO, a few days after the murder, the accused vacated the house and moved somewhere else, and kept telling close relatives that both brothers had gone to Lahore to study.
Shahnawaz Mengal said, ‘This secret was kept hidden for months and finally came to light a day ago when the accused’s ex-wife filed a complaint with the Inspector General of Police and reported it. After the police took the accused into custody, when they interrogated him, he confessed to the crime.
On the accused’s indication, the police, in the presence of the magistrate and the female police surgeon of the Civil Hospital, Dr. Ayesha Faiz, excavated a room of the said house located on Jan Muhammad Road, from where the remains of the two brothers were recovered.
Police surgeon Dr. Ayesha Faiz told the media that “Initial examination shows that both the men were killed with a sharp instrument and their bodies were cut into pieces and buried several feet below the room.”
“Only human bones were found during the exhumation, which were transferred to the Civil Hospital and DNA samples were obtained.”
The SHO added that the accused told during interrogation that he was an employee of an insurance company and was addicted to gambling. He confessed that he had lost his entire share in gambling, after which he planned to kill his brothers to get the remaining money.”
According to the police, the accused divorced his wife four months ago. However, his ex-wife will also be questioned to get more information about the incident.
