Jordan shot down dozens of Iranian drones headed for Israel

AMMAN: The Jordanian air force shot down dozens of Iranian drones that had breached its airspace and were en- route to Israel.

According to two regional security sources, Jordan’s air force shot down and intercepted dozens of Iranian drones that had violated its airspace and were flying toward Israel.

He said that the radar system is monitoring any drone activity coming from the direction of Syria and Iraq and the army is also on high alert.

People heard a lot of aircraft activity in several cities in the north of the country, near Syria and in the central and southern regions.

Several downed drones were spotted in a neighborhood south of the capital Amman, which is 60 kilometers (37 miles) from Jerusalem.

Locals gathered near the remains of a, possibly large, drone that crashed in a business district in the city’s suburbs, Marj al-Hammam.

According to a security source, the Air Force was reportedly stepping up its reconnaissance flights.
