Saudi govt arrests over 100 corrupt officials

RIYADH: Kingdom of Saudi Arabia‘s Supervisory and Anti-Corruption Authority (Nazaha) has announced the arrest of 121 government officials in connection with various criminal and administrative corruption cases.

The operation carried out during October involved the investigation of five government agencies.

The agencies being investigated include the Ministry of Interior, the Ministry of Justice, the National Guard, the Ministry of Local Government and Housing, and the Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority.

The investigation into Nazaha mainly targeted cases of bribery and abuse of power. As part of the process, 322 people were questioned, some of whom were later released on bail.

Throughout October, Nazaha conducted approximately 1,903 Saudi govt arrests over 100 corrupt officials visits. The agency reiterated its commitment to identifying and holding accountable those who misuse public funds or exploit their positions for personal gain, pledging strict enforcement of the law against all violators.
