Zakat Al-Fitr in UAE for 2024: Here’s latest amount & online payment methods

Zakat Al-Fitr in UAE for 2024: Here's latest amount & online payment methods

DUBAI: Muslims are obligated to give Zakat al-Fitr, commonly known as Sadaqat al-Fitr, to the needy during Ramadan and before Eid al-Fitr.

All affluent Muslims, regardless of age, must pay at the end of the holy month to ensure that the underprivileged in society can enjoy the joys of Eid-ul-Fitr.

Zakat al-Fitr is given in the form of staple food items – rice or grains – equal to about 25 dirhams per person. However, Islamic scholars allow it to be given as money.

For the year 2024, UAE authorities shared guidelines for Zakat al-Fitr and Fidya amounts for missed fasts during the month of Ramadan. Muslims in the UAE are required to pay 25 dirhams as Zakat al-Fitr in cash or an equivalent value of rice.
