KARACHI: The KIA Picanto, launched five years ago, remains a niche product in Pakistan’s hatchback market. Powered by a 1.0-liter petrol engine, this compact car is available in both manual and automatic variants.
Its sleek design features a tiger-nose grille, multi-focus reflector headlights, and a rear spoiler, while comfortably accommodating five passengers.
The Picanto also boasts a range of convenient features, including a motor-driven power steering wheel, tachometer, MP3 player, and optional media player.
In terms of safety, the Picanto is equipped with multiple airbags, keyless entry, and manual AC. However, its fuel average is less impressive compared to competitors in its league.
This, combined with stiff competition from Suzuki cars, which offer more affordability and space, has contributed to the Picanto’s sluggish sales. As a result, Picanto’s niche status in Pakistan’s hatchback market is likely to continue unless the company addresses its limitations and enhances its value proposition.
| Picanto Installments | Picanto Manual | Picanto Automatic |

| Number of Months | 60 | 60 |
| Rent per Month | Rs. 80,771 | Rs. 87,888 |
Despite its appealing features, Picanto’s limited market demand and competition from established players have restricted its growth.
To regain momentum, KIA must focus on improving Picanto’s fuel efficiency and overall value proposition to attract more buyers in Pakistan’s competitive hatchback market.
