KARACHI: Pakistan’s motorcycle and Rikshaw three-wheeler sales witnessed a significant surge in October, with a 35% year-over-year increase, reaching 137,693 units compared to 101,976 units sold in the same month last year.

This growth was accompanied by a 5.14% rise from the 130,960 units sold in September 2024. The first four months of the fiscal year saw a notable 23.43% increase in total sales, reaching 457,880 units, up from 370,966 units sold during the same period last year. This upward trend indicates a robust demand for two-wheelers in the country.

The production sector also experienced growth, with 136,926 units manufactured in October, marking a 27.88% increase from 107,078 units in October last year and an 8.16% rise from 126,597 units produced in September 2024.

Honda maintained its dominance in the market, selling 115,293 motorcycles in October, capturing an impressive 83.73% market share. This represents a 4.68% increase from September and a 27.93% rise from October 2023. Other key players, including United, Sazgar, and Suzuki, also contributed to the growth.

United sold 14,343 units, while Sazgar sold 2,401 units. Suzuki experienced a notable 6.49% month-over-month increase, selling 2,182 motorcycles in October, representing a 78.85% year-over-year jump.

Industry experts attribute this growth to various factors, including increased consumer demand, improved economic conditions, and the availability of affordable financing options. As the economy continues to recover, the two-wheeler industry is expected to maintain its upward trajectory.
