LAHORE: The Punjab government has formally launched the Electric Bike Scheme to empower the youth and promote eco-friendly travel facilities, under which the online portal has been opened for the citizens.
The aim of this initiative is to provide easy and cost-effective travel facilities to students and low-income people so that they can get rid of the difficulties faced in daily travel.
According to government sources, the application process for this scheme has been made completely online, which will ensure transparency and maximum people will get the opportunity to benefit from this facility. Applicants have been instructed to visit the official portal https://ptfpunjabgov.com and enter their personal information, educational details and other necessary data correctly so that their application can be processed without any hindrance.
Officials say that the electric bikes provided under this scheme will not only help in saving from the rising cost of fuel but will also lead to a reduction in environmental pollution. In the context of rising inflation and increase in petrol prices in Pakistan, this scheme is being seen as a major convenience for the citizens.
The government has clarified that the selection of eligible candidates will be done under a transparent and merit-based system. In this regard, priority will be given to students, especially university and college students, so that they can continue their educational activities without any travel hurdles. In addition, a special quota has been allocated for female applicants so that they too can get the opportunity to take full advantage of this facility.
The Punjab government has appealed to the citizens to submit their applications on time to benefit from this scheme and stay away from any unverified sources or agents. More information, complete details regarding eligibility criteria and application procedure are available on the official portal.
