RAWALPINDI: The district administration has announced plans to set up 10 convenience markets in Garrison City to provide vegetables to residents at low prices.
Deputy Commissioner Dr Hasan Waqar Cheema told media that three bazaars have already been set up in Shamsabad, Chur Chaki and Haideri Chowk, locations for seven more bazaars will be decided in the coming days.
Waqar Cheema explained that these markets will provide vegetables to the public at cheap rates.
He further said that the Punjab government has directed the administration to provide maximum facilities to the residents.
Wholesalers will set up their stalls free of charge and sell vegetables at wholesale prices. The main objective of this measure is to help reduce the effects of inflation.
