ISLAMABAD: The price of jet fuel used by aircraft has been increased by Rs12.32 per litre, while kerosene prices have also gone up despite recent reductions in petrol and diesel rates.
According to the latest notification, the price of jet fuel has been raised from Rs283.52 per litre to Rs295.84 per litre, effective immediately.
Meanwhile, the price of light diesel oil (LDO) has been reduced by 18 paisas per litre, bringing the new rate down to Rs244.75 per litre from Rs244.93 per litre.
The revised prices of jet fuel and light diesel have come into effect from today.
Earlier, the government also increased the price of kerosene oil by Rs 1.49 per litre. Following the increase, the new price of kerosene has been fixed at Rs282.19 per litre, compared to the previous rate of Rs280.70 per litre.
The latest hike comes a week after kerosene prices were increased by Rs8.70 per litre.
In contrast, the government recently provided relief on major petroleum products by reducing the price of petrol by Rs4 per litre and high-speed diesel by Rs2 per litre.
Following the reduction, the price of petrol stands at Rs373.78 per litre, while diesel is being sold at Rs378.78 per litre
