Cement prices see decline nationwide

KARACHI: A decrease in the retail prices of cement has been recorded in the country during the past week.

According to the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics, the average retail price of cement per sack in the northern cities of the country in the week ending January 1 was recorded at Rs 1387, which is 0.27 percent lower than the previous week.

The average retail price of cement per sack in the northern cities of the country in the previous week was recorded at Rs 1391.

Similarly, in the week ending January 1, the average retail price of cement per sack in the southern cities of the country was recorded at Rs 1446, which was also Rs 1446 in the previous week.

According to statistics, during the past week, the average retail price of cement per sack in Islamabad was recorded at Rs 1367, Rawalpindi at Rs 1361, Gujranwala at Rs 1420, Sialkot at Rs 1400, Lahore at Rs 1457, Faisalabad at Rs 1380, Sargodha at Rs 1400, Multan at Rs 1411, Bahawalpur at Rs 1413, Peshawar at Rs 1353 and Bannu at Rs 1300.

Similarly, in the week ending January 1, the average retail price of cement per sack in Karachi was recorded at Rs 1379, Hyderabad at Rs 1428, Sukkur at Rs 1530, Larkana at Rs 1407, Quetta at Rs 1490 and Khuzdar at Rs 1443.
