LAHORE: The price of chicken in Punjab has dropped significantly in the market by Rs. 61 per kilogram, which will be applicable from May 13, 2024.
Chicken meat is one of the most consumed meats in Pakistan. The demand for poultry remains high throughout the year, as it is widely used in all kinds of dishes.
The price of chicken meat in the local market is now 416 per kg, significantly lower than Friday’s Rs. 477.
The price of the chicken farm broiler (live) is now fixed at Rs. 265 per kg, compared to Rs. 305 last week. Similarly, the price of a dozen eggs has been marginally increased by Rs. 2 to Rs. 258.
A full crate of 350 eggs is priced at Rs 7,620, up Rs 60 against Rs 7,560 last week.
Lower poultry prices can ease financial pressure on consumers and offer more economical choices. However, doubts remain about whether retailers will go ahead with the new rates.
