Chinese flagship EV car company BYD sets foot in Pakistan

China’s electric vehicle (EV) giant BYD is coming to Pakistan through a partnership with local company Mega Conglomerate Private Limited.

At the BYD Asia Pacific Dealer Conference in Xi’an, China, Liu Xueliang and Zhang Jie from BYD and Mega’s Aly Khan signed an agreement in this regard.

Liu Xueliang, General Manager of BYD Asia Pacific Auto Sales Division, stated that the objective was to revolutionize Pakistan’s automotive sector and offer consumers cutting-edge eco-friendly car options.

Aly Khan, in the meantime, predicted that the agreement would improve sustainable mobility and serve as a stimulus for the wider use of EVs in Pakistan.

According to the deal, three flagship BYD stores would open in 2024 in Islamabad, Lahore and Karachi. In addition to showcasing BYD’s cutting-edge new energy vehicle technology, these showrooms will enable direct orders from customers and offer a flawless shopping experience.
