ISLAMABAD: Gold prices in Pakistan dropped heavily on Tuesday, as the international market suffered a sharp downfall.
In the domestic market, gold rates per tola went down by RS 10,700, closing at RS. 459,462, aided by data from the All-Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Sarafa Association (APGJSA).
The price for 10 grams of gold saw a decrease as well, down by Rs. 9,174, at Rs. 393,914. This comes a day after gold prices per tola had already slid to Rs. 470,162 following a decline of Rs. 5,500.
Internationally, gold prices dropped by $107, and as a result, the exchange rate was lowered to $4,371 per ounce, including a $20 premium. The prices of silver also saw a slump, with its rate per tola dropping by Rs. 145 to Rs. 7,930.
