KARACHI: Gold prices in Pakistan declined on Friday, tracking losses in the international bullion market, according to the All-Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Sarafa Association (APGJSA).
The price of 24-karat gold per tola dropped by Rs1,400, bringing the new rate down to Rs432,436.
Similarly, the price of 10 grams of 24-karat gold decreased by Rs1,200 to Rs370,744.
A day earlier, on Thursday, the price of gold had surged by Rs3,600 per tola, reaching Rs433,836.
In the international market, gold prices also moved lower, with the price falling by $14 to $4,100 per ounce (including a premium of $20), which contributed to the decline in local rates.
Meanwhile, unlike gold, silver prices increased in the domestic market. The price of silver per tola rose by Rs11, reaching Rs6,432.
Analysts say fluctuations in global bullion prices and currency movements continue to influence gold and silver rates in Pakistan.
