ISLAMABAD: Gold prices witnessed a significant increase in both Pakistan and the international market on Friday, pushing the domestic rate close to Rs440,000 per tola.
According to the All Pakistan Sarafa Association, the price of 24-karat gold per tola rose by Rs7,250, reaching Rs439,966. Meanwhile, the price of 10 grams of gold increased by Rs6,525 to Rs375,947.
Silver prices also moved upward, with the per tola rate gaining Rs190 to settle at Rs7,079.
In the international market, gold prices surged by $72 per ounce, reaching $4,175 per ounce, contributing to the sharp rise in local prices.
Market analysts attribute the increase to growing global economic uncertainty and stronger demand for gold as a safe-haven investment.
