Govt discloses taxes on per litre petrol, diesel after hike

ISLAMABAD: After the change in the prices of petroleum products last night, details of taxes imposed on a liter of petrol and diesel have been revealed.

According to sources in the Ministry of Energy, 32 percent of taxes are included in the price of a liter of petrol, 129.72 rupees are included in taxes in the price of a liter of petrol, while 23.72 rupees are also included in customs duty per liter of petrol.

Sources say that 103.50 rupees are included in the price of a liter of petrol, and 2.50 rupees are also included in the price of a liter of petrol.

Sources say that 21 percent of taxes are included in the price of a liter of diesel, 82.81 rupees are included in taxes in the price of a liter of diesel, while 51.62 rupees are included in customs duty.

According to sources from the Ministry of Energy, the price of diesel per liter includes a levy of Rs 28.69, while a climate support levy of Rs 2.50 is also imposed.

Govt announces new petrol prices for next week

The government of Pakistan has announced the new petrol rates for the next week. According to the notification, the new petrol prices will be effective from Friday 01, May 2026.

The new petrol price in Pakistan is Rs 399.19 after an increase of Rs 6, while diesel increased by Rs 19 to Rs 399.58
