RAWALPINDI: Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) has issued notices to two marketing companies including Graana.com and Agency21 for doing unauthorized property expo advertisements in Rawalpindi.
Directorate of Metropolitan Planning and Traffic Engineering RDA has issued notices to Graana.com and Agency21 regarding their property expos in twin cities. Development authority warned sponsors to immediately stop marketing and selling plots of illegal housing schemes.
In a statement, the RDA Spokesperson said that the exhibition, advertisement, or marketing of any project or scheme can not be done without obtaining an NOC from the authority.
Additionally, the notices directed the aforementioned marketing companies to provide the RDA with comprehensive details regarding the venue and dates of their property expos.
Moreover, RDA directed real estate companies to ensure not promoting unauthorized or illegal projects during the property expos and that files of those housing societies should not be sold.
The development authority also warned Shafiq Akbar, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Graana.com and Agency21 that in case of non-compliance with the Punjab Development of Cities Act 1976 and Punjab Development Authorities Private Housing Schemes Rules 2021, the authority holds the right to initiate legal proceedings against the companies under relevant law.
“No sponsor shall advertise the sale of plots or housing units in print and electronic media or by any means without prior approval of the sponsoring authority,” he said. In this regard, it is apprised that unless a project gets NOC from RDA Rawalpindi, it cannot be declared as an approved or legal project, he added.
