Jamaat-e-Islami demands Petrol Price cut to Rs225 Per Litre

KARACHI: Jamaat-e-Islami has demanded that the government fix the price of petrol at Rs 225 per liter.

Acting Ameer Jamaat-e-Islami Karachi Muslim Pervaiz, while addressing the central protest demonstration at the camp set up at the water pump Federal B Area, said that even after buying a ship worth Rs 11 billion, their stomachs are not filling up, the pockets of the people are being robbed in the name of levy for a long time.

He said that the purpose of the levy was to reduce debts and focus on development works. A former member of the National Assembly of Jamaat-e-Islami had also spoken in the House for the abolition of the levy. If the levy is abolished, petrol will be Rs 225 per liter.

Muslim Pervaiz said that even in utility stores, additional money is collected in the form of taxes, the income of all export programs goes to the bank balance of the rulers, the money collected in the name of levy also goes to their bank balance.

He said that only Jamaat-e-Islami is present in Pakistan that is speaking against the petroleum levy, if the anger of the people increases, then the rulers will not have any place to hide, the time will definitely come when the people will throw the rulers out of the houses through revolution.

Acting Ameer Jamaat-e-Islami Karachi said that protests are being held nationwide on the appeal of Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman, protest demonstrations are being held at 13 places in Karachi as well, today’s protests are aimed at the rulers to end the oppression of the people.

Muslim Pervaiz said that the rulers should understand and be aware, otherwise the anger and usurpation of the people will sweep away everything.
