ISLAMABAD: The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) has reduced electricity rates by Rs 1.28 per unit as part of the September fuel price adjustment, which has not affected K Electric customers.
According to media reports, Nepra has issued a notification of reduction of Rs 1.28 per unit under fuel price adjustment for September 2024.
The Central Power Purchasing Agency (CPPA-G) had submitted a request for reduction of 71 paise per unit, which was reviewed by Nepra in a public hearing on October 30, 2024.
Earlier, a reduction of 86 paisa per unit was applied in the August fuel charges adjustment. In September, FCA will charge consumers an additional 42 paise per unit less than in August.
Nepra said the adjustment is applicable to all DISCO customers except Lifeline, prepaid customers, and electric vehicle charging stations, which will not affect K-Electric customers.
