New official flour rates issued, citizens forced to buy at high prices

KARACHI: Despite the issuance of new official flour rates, citizens are forced to buy flour at high prices.

Despite the issuance of new flour prices by the Commissioner Karachi, they are not being implemented, milled, fine and 2.5 number flour are being sold at high prices in Karachi, contrary to the official price.

Milled flour is being sold at 160 rupees per kilo instead of 150 rupees per kilo, contrary to the official price, an additional ten rupees are being charged.

Fine flour is being sold at 140 rupees per kilo instead of 121 rupees per kilo, the official price of 2.5 number flour has been fixed at 113 rupees per kilo, but it is being sold at 130 rupees per kilo.

Retailers have blamed flour mills for this increase in flour prices, they said that flour mills have made flour expensive as soon as the official list came out.

He said that they cannot buy expensive flour and sell it at a low price. He said that if the Commissioner Karachi gets cheap flour, he will provide it at government prices.
