QUETTA: The Balochistan Revenue Authority (BRA) requires all wedding halls and event service providers to complete their registration process while paying necessary taxes.
The rules must be followed because they will create economic benefits for the province, while noncompliance will lead to fines and legal consequences.
The Balochistan Revenue Authority (BRA) has mandated all wedding halls and event service providers throughout the province to register their businesses with the authority, according to an official news agency, APP, which has been published.
The order affects all businesses that provide event services by operating wedding halls, lawns, and marquee setups, decorations, and other related facilities.
The owners of these services must register their operations with the BRA, while they must also pay their taxes according to provincial laws. Under the Balochistan Sales Tax on Services Act 2015, all wedding-related services and event planning services become subject to sales tax.
The tax has been established at PKR 10,000 for each event, or businesses have to pay 2% of their service fees. Businesses must complete their registration process and pay their taxes while they submit their tax returns within the specified time frame.
The BRA stated that registration failure, together with tax non-payment and return submission delays, will lead to legal consequences, which will result in fines according to the law.
The authority requested wedding hall owners and event service providers to comply with all regulations because their tax compliance will support provincial development and economic growth.
