New York City Mayor backs Pakistan’s Crypto vision

ISLAMABAD: In a recent development, New York City Mayor Eric Adams has expressed strong support for Pakistan’s vision for crypto and blockchain, highlighting the potential for collaboration between the two regions.

During a meeting with Minister of State for Crypto and Blockchain Bilal Bin Saqib, Adams stated, “We consider New York to be Lahore,” symbolizing camaraderie and cultural kinship between the two regions.

According to the press release, Mayor Adams, during the meeting, stated, We consider New York to be Lahore.” New York City, as well as Pakistan, have stepped forward in an audacious fashion by creating exclusive Crypto Councils to assist in the ethical development of the digital economy.

This
conference represented a critical milestone towards constructing direct partnerships between the Pakistan Crypto Council and the NewYork Crypto Council, two government-sponsored entities dedicated to directing the direction of Web3.

Mayor Adams and Minister Saqib considered ways to co-develop knowledge-sharing programs, capacity-building initiatives, and strategic advisory services to encourage innovation while also maintaining regulatory compliance.

The two also debated common challenges and strategies for expanding the digital asset economy in heterogeneous high-potential markets.

The meeting was preceded by Mayor Adams sending Eid Mubarak wishes to Muslims globally. Being one of the biggest and most diverse Muslim communities in the United States, there are more than 800,000 Muslim residents in New York City. The gathering was a symbol of unification, marking both cultural bonding as well as a common digital future.

This event was the culmination of Minister Saqibs official U.S. tour aimed at blockchain innovation, public-private partnerships, and driving global crypto collaboration.

The meeting at Gracie Mansion provided an appropriate wrap-up, emphasizing New York Citys leadership in the global tech space and Pakistans potential as a new, bold voice in the digital asset market.
