ISLAMABAD: The open market prices of ghee and cooking oil advanced to their peak levels, which caused additional financial strain on household budgets.
Consumers experienced minimal relief because flour prices dropped at the same time. Lahore open market sells premium quality ghee at Rs.590 per kilogram and cooking oil at Rs.595 per kilogram. Second-grade ghee costs Rs.540 per kilogram while third-grade ghee costs Rs.470 per kilogram.
Private companies have decreased flour prices because they now offer a 5kg bag at a reduced cost of Rs.70 to Rs.100. Departmental stores sell a 5kg flour bag for Rs.790, while smaller retail shops offer the same product at Rs.830.
Essential commodity prices show a mixed trend, which results from current market changes and provides minimal assistance to customers who are dealing with increasing expense patterns.
