CALIFORNIA: Important details regarding the expected prices and launch plan of Appleās new iPhone 18 series have been revealed for iPhone enthusiasts around the world.
Apple Chief Executive Tim Cook had hinted in early June 2026 that the company would have to raise the prices of iPhones, as global shortages of memory (RAM) and storage chips have significantly increased production costs, but he did not provide details of the new prices at the time.
Now, an analyst report from investment firm JP Morgan claims that Apple will increase the price of each new iPhone model by only $50 compared to the previous generation.
According to the expected prices, the iPhone 18 Pro will have a starting price of $1,149, while the iPhone 18 Pro Max can be sold for $1,249. Various reports had previously claimed that the prices of the new models could go up to $200, but the latest analysis has given a somewhat more reassuring picture for consumers.
The report added that the rapidly growing use of artificial intelligence (AI) has led to an increase in the construction of data centers worldwide, which has led to an unprecedented increase in demand for memory and storage chips. Due to this, the chip manufacturing companies have increased the prices, which has also affected the smartphone industry.
According to the Wall Street Journal, the cost of the memory and storage components used in the iPhone 18 Pro alone could be about $150 more than the iPhone 17.
The company is expected to introduce the iPhone 18 Pro and its first foldable iPhone in September 2026, while the iPhone 18 and iPhone Air 2 are expected to be introduced in early 2027.
