ISLAMABAD: Direct flights between Pakistan and Iran have officially begun, marking a significant step forward in strengthening bilateral ties.

The announcement was made on Tuesday by Iranian Ambassador Dr. Reza Amiri Moqadam, who confirmed that the launch follows the finalization of a comprehensive air travel agreement that was largely facilitated by the Iranian President’s recent visit to Pakistan.

The direct flights will be operated by Iran Air Tour, one of Iran’s leading airlines. Officials on both sides believe that the move will boost tourism, foster cultural exchanges and improve people-to-people contacts between the two neighboring countries.

Ambassador Moqadam thanked the Pakistani government for its cooperation in implementing the agreement and said that the new air link will provide Iranian travelers with an opportunity to experience Pakistan’s natural landscapes and warm hospitality.

He also highlighted that easier and more direct travel routes will play a significant role in strengthening business ties and creating new opportunities for tourism professionals and entrepreneurs in both countries.
