Passport fee Increase: Here’s latest fee update (March 2024)

The federal government has announced a significant rise in passport fees. Citizens will have to pay an additional 50% to get the basic travel document.

Directorate General of Immigration and Passports also shared notification in this regard. The notification noted a major increase in the passport fee, with the new prices ranging from Rs 45,000 to Rs 27,000.

The recent move by the government to raise passport fees has raised serious concerns among those who are already struggling with inflation and trying to settle abroad.

A regular 36-page passport valid for five years now costs Rs 4,500, up from Rs 3,000 under the revised fees.

Latest Passport fee in Pakistan

The Government of Pakistan has decided to enhance the Machine Readable Passport fee w.e.f. 07-03-2024.

The federal govt has set a normal passport fee having five years of validity (36 pages) at Rs 4,500 and urgent costing Rs 7,500.
