ISLAMABAD: The government is expected to provide relief to consumers for the fourth consecutive week, as a proposal has been made to reduce the price of petrol by Rs.4 per litre, according to sources.
If approved, the new petrol price is likely to be Rs376 per litre. Meanwhile, there is a proposal to keep the price of high-speed diesel unchanged at Rs380 per litre.
Sources said the final decision will be taken after consultations with the relevant authorities and approval from the federal government.
The revised petroleum prices are expected to come into effect from 12:00 midnight following the official announcement.
