Petrol prices likely to receive new hike in Pakistan

ISLAMABAD: The prices of petrol, high-speed diesel (HSD), kerosene, and light diesel oil (LDO) are likely to increase in Pakistan, according to sources.

This new hike in petrol prices is attributed to the rising global oil rates, which have been on an upwards trend for last few weeks.

According to sources, the government is likely to announce a substantial increase in petrol prices in the upcoming week.

However, the magnitude of the hike is yet to be confirmed, but sources suggest that it may range between Rs. 10 to Rs. 15 per liter.

The increase in petrol prices is expected to have a negative effect on the economy, leading to higher transportation costs and increased prices of essential commodities.

Earlier, the federal government announced that petrol prices will remain unchanged until the next fortnight.
