Punjab, KP face petrol supply disruption amid PTI protest

Punjab, KP face petrol supply disruption amid PTI protest

LAHORE: The Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs) have been instructed by the Ministry of Petroleum to guarantee a seamless supply of petroleum products after noticing interruptions in the supply of gasoline and diesel.

Abdul Sami Khan, the chairman of the Pakistan Petroleum Dealers Association, claims that tanker shipments have been disrupted by road bottlenecks brought on by the PTI protests, leaving certain gas stations, particularly in Punjab and KP, without fuel.

He pointed out that although Sindh is largely unaffected, Punjab and KP are going through serious disruptions, with many cars stuck because of road closures. “Blocked roads prevent people from accessing gasoline even when it is available,” he continued.

Several gas stations have reportedly run out of stock, especially in Punjab, where some outlets have been closed or are only offering a limited supply. Fuel delivery have been halted for the previous three days due to persistent road restrictions, according to pump owners.

Chakwal Petrol Supply Suspended

All petrol sales in Chakwal city have been shut down as a result of the suspension of the delivery of petrol and diesel to the petrol pumps in Talagang and Chakwal.

The inhabitants’ problems have gotten worse due to the lack of fuel.

The supply of petroleum supplies in Lahore has been seriously interrupted by road obstructions. Nearly 30% of the city’s gas pumps have run dry, according to Ch. Nauman Majeed, president of the Pakistan Petroleum Dealers Association Lahore. He cautioned that the fuel scarcity would get worse if supplies are not replenished within a day.

Residents in impacted areas experience severe difficulties as a result of the lack of fuel, so the petroleum division has been encouraged to act quickly to guarantee an uninterrupted supply in order to alleviate the situation.
