KARACHI: The Pakistani rupee (PKR) experienced a slight acceleration against the US dollar (USD) in early trading on Thursday, gaining 0.05% in the interbank market.
The PKR traded at 278.63 against the USD, marking a modest increase of 14 paise.
This follows a depreciation of 0.02% on Wednesday, September 4, when the PKR closed at 278.77 against the USD. However, the rupee showed strength against other major currencies, including the British Pound, Euro, Saudi Riyal, Swiss Franc, and Chinese Yuan.

The PKR’s performance this year has been mixed, with a depreciation of 0.15% against the USD since the start of the financial year. Nevertheless, on a calendar-year basis, the rupee has appreciated by 1.11% against the USD, gaining 3.09 rupees.
