Punjab AG office launches quick GP fund service for retirees

LAHORE: A fast-track cell has been established in the Accountant General Punjab office to provide GP fund money to retired government employees quickly and without any hassle.

Additional Chief Secretary Punjab Ahmed Raza Sarwar inaugurated the cell. The ceremony was attended by Accountant General Punjab Namana Gulrukh, officers of the AG Office, and employees of various departments retiring in 2025.

Addressing the gathering, the Additional Chief Secretary, Punjab, said that the fast-track sale aims to facilitate the retiring employees so that they are not stranded and can get their due amount quickly.

Accountant General Punjab Namana Gulrukh said that the new system will increase transparency, while the annual data of each employee will be updated automatically. This will make it easier to submit the file at the time of retirement as well as pay the GP fund amount.

Namana Gulrukh further said that if any employee faces any difficulty in obtaining the GP fund, the doors of his office are open at all times. At the end of the ceremony, shields were also distributed among the recently retired employees of various departments.
